The origin is volcanic and this does manifest in a beautiful hilly and sometimes mountainous landscape with green valleys and rippling brooks, offering you an intensive kind of stillness. Every curve of the road shows you a new panorama, indicating the time to stand still over the last 50 years.
For our guests we have car routes mapped out and numerous walking tours available. These will lead you through this beautiful nature, thanks not yet discovered by the mass-tourism.

For a daytrip in the surrounding there are numerous opportunities, such as:

• Rocamadour with e.g. a butterfly garden, a monkey garden and a show with birds of prey;
• Le Cuzals, an open-air museum of 50 ha, where you imagine yourself some 100 years ago. You will also find here several caves, as there are Foissac, La Cave, Padirac (with its underground river);
• The cathedral of Conques with a temple from the 12th century;
• A labyrinth (over 3 hectares) in the corn fields you will find in St. Mamet la Salvetat. Questionnaires and explanation available in English. Opened from July 9th up to end of August.
• La Vallée des Daims. This valley of the deers is an absolute must for your children. For a direct contact with the animals you cross the parc either by walking or with a small train. More info on: www.daims.fr
• Adventure Park Le Lioran. At a distance of about 5 quarters of an hour driving you will find the wintersports area of Le Lioran, with more or less challenging levels of organised adventure to enjoy a sportive day for all members of the family. More info on: www.lioran-aventure.com
• Flagnac (15 kms) with a spectacular historic open-air performance (end of July and beginning of August);
• Maurs (some 2500 inhabitants) is situated at 6 km and has a very pleasant and cozy village centre, with cafés, restaurants and many shops (2 supermarkets). You will find here a Tourist Information, to provide you with many opportunities and there brochures/maps. Every Thursday morning there is week market with regional products (e.g. the famous Cantal cheese). Maurs will also offer you all necessary medical care, as there is a modern medical centre and two pharmacies.
• And if you like to discover the surroundings in bird's-eye view?
  A short flight from the airport of Aurillac Tronquières will be a perfect solution. For an in every way reasonable price this is a real must. Whether you might choose for the beautiful vulcane area 'Les Volcans' or the land of the rivers Lot and Dordogne, we are prepared to book you a seat in one of the sportive planes.
